The Importance Of Recycling

At LYLA we believe there’s never a wrong time to care about recycling and keeping our planet healthy and clean.

The word “recycle” comes from the word “to repeat”. The idea behind recycling is to reuse something rather than throwing it away. This is because recycling helps to reduce pollution, protect natural resources, and save energy. Recycling also has the most impact on the environment. It can help create a cleaner and healthier planet for you, and for your children. Our future depends on it. If we all recycle, we will be able to reduce the amount of garbage in our landfills and oceans. So, to get you started in doing your part, here are some things LYLA recommends that you can do to help recycle.

One of the easiest ways to help recycle is to know what can be recycled. Dry paper, flattened cardboard, empty containers or cartons made from metal, aluminum, plastic or glass are just a few of the materials we can recycle. Another way to help is to buy reusable products, such as cloth towels instead of paper towels, or glass rather than plastic containers. If there is an opportunity for otherwise, single use is a no-go. LYLA also recommends watching your consumption of products. You should buy things meant to last, and ditch what is easily broken or wasteful. We have to realize that we can’t keep on consuming and throwing things away; the world is running out of space and resources.

It’s time to start thinking about how we can reuse and recycle. It doesn’t take much to do your part for the environment. You just need to keep in mind what you’re buying, watch your consumption, and care for the planet. Getting help and listening to LYLA can go a long way.
